Welcome to The Black Love Campaign!

The Black Love Campaign aims to flood the internet with imagery of healthy, loving, lasting, black romantic relationships. Social media has a way of skewing facts, promoting and repeating popular opinions rather than solid truths. One of those repeated popular opinions is the idea that black people, overall, are unable to create and maintain healthy, loving romantic relationships. This is furthered by notions that black women have a difficult time finding black partners that are their equals, and that successful black men prefer to marry non-black partners. While this may the the truth for some, it is not the truth for all. Rather than focus on the stereotypes about black romantic relationships, The Black Love Campaign hopes to flood the twenty-first century timeline with black love so that it becomes the norm, what expected and not an anomaly for people to hashtag "goals."

We are accepting essays, think pieces, poetry and prose according to the guidelines here: BLACK LOVE CAMPAIGN WRITTEN SUBMISSIONS.

Why Video?

The goal of videos is to flood youtube with videos depicting Black Love to encourage other black youtube creators who have not yet heard of this campaign to also make similar videos.

Why photos and essays?

Photographic images and essays will be posted to this site. Additionally a select few will be published in a coffee table anthology. IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT YOU HAVE PERMISSION FROM YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER FOR ALL PHOTOS SUBMITTED.
